Meet Dr. Kevin Timm

Kevin R. Timm, DDS

My profession gives me the opportunity to help someone every day. I absolutely love changing my patients’ smiles. From minor procedures that change the appearance and self-confidence of a patient to full-mouth restorations that drastically improve health and function, each patient I see reinforces my passion for dentistry. There are so many aspects of health and wellness that begin with the mouth, and any time I can see a small problem and fix it before it becomes a big problem I consider it a personal victory. Each patient is different and I enjoy the challenge of getting to know them and what they want for their dental health.

Education and Continuing Education

I knew I wanted to be a dentist from a very young age, and continued my education with dentistry in mind until I was in college. I started working in a dental office to gain first-hand experience of what it was like to be a dentist and quickly realized that I was on the right career track and continued full speed ahead!

A graduate of the Alcona Community School System, I stayed in northern Michigan and attended Alpena Community College and the University of Michigan for my undergraduate education. I completed my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. As a dentist committed to learning, I stay up-to-date on the latest technology through a variety of continuing education opportunities. I enjoy interacting with my peers and taking part in discussions regarding treatment methodologies, in addition to absorbing the wealth of information available in dental journals and online webinars. Every bit of knowledge I acquire allows me to improve the care that we offer to our patients.

Family and Community

I grew up on Spruce Road in Spruce, MI, a small town in north eastern Michigan and the inspiration for the name Blue Spruce Dental. I now reside in Napoleon with my wife, Jennifer. She is my rock and works hard for our family, as well as the business. We have two children, Ryan and AnnaMarie, both of whom attend the Napoleon Community Schools. Our family is finished off by Zoe the Beagle, three cats named Stella, Nike, and Gabby, and lots of wildlife that is always trying to eat our garden. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family. We’re big into camping. It allows us time to unwind and spend time together. We will hike, bike, boat, kayak, or just read by the campfire.

Over the years I have been involved in Boy and Girl Scouts of America and helping out at our local Jackson Food Pantry. As a parent of two High School Students I am active helping when needed in activities such as Cross Country, Track, Marching Band and Concert Band and in various projects involving our community.

Another favorite group I am involved with is the Capital Area Koi and Water Gardening Club; as our patients may notice, we have a beautiful koi pond behind the office. I have learned so many things from attending informational meetings and visiting member ponds.
